Not My Scooter: Using the Dashboard With Your Phone's Sensors

by FixoLab

Feature guide

What is Not My Scooter?

Not My Scooter is a dashboard mode that uses your phone's own sensors instead of a Bluetooth connection to a vehicle — useful when you want a speedometer-style view without owning a compatible scooter yet.

What you need

  • Scooter Tools installed on iOS or Android
  • Your phone's motion sensors (no scooter connection required)

How to use it

  1. 1

    Open Scooter Tools

Select Not My Scooter instead of scanning for a Bluetooth device.

  2. 2

Mount or hold your phone securely

Sensor-based readings depend on how the phone is positioned during movement.

  3. 3

    View the estimated dashboard

Speed and motion data update based on your phone's sensors.

What it's useful for

  • A dashboard view without needing a compatible scooter
  • Testing the app's interface before buying a scooter

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't connect to or read data from any actual scooter
  • Estimated values aren't as precise as a real BLE connection
  • It shouldn't be relied on as your default dashboard once you have a compatible scooter

Troubleshooting

Not My Scooter stayed selected after restarting the app

This mode is not meant to persist as your default dashboard after a cold start; if it does, reselect your actual scooter from the scan list.
